Embed a picasa Slideshow in your blog



Posting a picture in a post helps push the message across, after all a picture is worth a thousand words. Yet sometimes a mere thousand words are not enough, so you need to add more pictures. But posting too many pictures will make your post grow longer, sometimes too long for the readers -not good. So you ask, “Is there a way to post all those pictures without inducingscrollingitis on my readers?”. If I may answer, I would say yes there are ways to prevent scrollingitis, and one of them is by using a slideshow.

I. Making the slideshow

  1. Go to Picasa Web Albums and sign-in with your Google account.
  2. Upload or group the pictures together in an album.
  3. From within the album, click on Link To This Album link.link to1
  4. Click on Embed Slideshow. A pop-up showing slideshow configuration and preview will appear.embed1
  5. Change Slideshow size to fit your blog post width. There are also options toAutoplay and Show caption.slideshow configuration

II. Embedding the slideshow in your blog

  • To embed in a post, follow this step:
    1. Go to Blogger Post Editor.
    2. Switch to Edit HTML mode.
    3. Copy and paste the entire code in the yellow window and paste it into your post where you want the slideshow to play.
    4. Save your post and view it. The slideshow should playing inside the post.
  • To embed in a page element e.g. sidebar, follow this step:
    1. Go to Design > Page Elements.
    2. Click Add A Gadget link.
    3. Select HTML/Javascript gadget.
    4. Save the slideshow code into the gadget window.
    5. Save and view your blog. The slideshow should playing inside the sidebar.
